Who should throw a goodbye party for someone who's leaving?

So im moving pretty soon, about an hour and a half away from my current town. I don't know if I should throw my own goodbye party, or should a friend do it for me? If another friend does it for me, would I have to buy the food and stuff for it? I know I want to host it at my house, because im the only person in our group of friends who has a big enough house and a pool. I have no idea, cause no friends of mine have ever moved! So can someone please help me out? Thanks!
